Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect from my first Brazilian?

You are removing hair from the root and the first time will probably sting a bit and be a little uncomfortable. Irritation and redness are a common response, due to the histamine reaction caused by the removal of hair by the root. Regular sugaring will desensitize your skin and cause less irritation. If you keep to a regular schedule of 4 weeks, most clients say the pain decreases significantly.

Can I sugar if I'm using Accutane?

No. Accutane thins the skin and there is risk of removing skin if sugared or waxed while under this medication. You must wait at least 6 months after discontinuation of Accutane before recieving any hair removal treatments.

Retin-A and Renova are applied topically and also thin the skin. It is not recommended that you sugar or wax the area's where these medications are applied. Wait at least 3 months after the discontinuation of these products before receiving any hair removal treatments.
