Frequently Asked Questions

How is sugaring different from waxing?

Sugar paste is massaged onto the skin by hand at luke-warm temperature against the natural direction of hair growth. With a flicking motion, the hair is gently removed in the natural direction of the hair growth.
Waxing is applied using a spatula in the natural direction of hair growth, a strip is applied to the wax and it is then removed against the natural direction of hair growth.

Is sugaring more sanitary than waxing?

Yes, there is no risk of cross contamination with sugaring because the sugar paste is removed with a clean, gloved hand. One ball of sugar is used for each service.

How often should I sugar?

About every 3 - 4 weeks. Sugaring allows for us to remove hairs as short as 1/16 of an inch or four to seven days growth. Your first three sugaring sessions are the most important. It is recommended to have these appointments booked fairly close together to achieve reduction of hair growth more quickly.

What should I expect if this is my first hair removal service?

Hair being removed for the first time may be more resistant. As you have more services performed, the root becomes smaller and the hair will remove more easily. A few hours after your Body Sugaring appointment, you may experience small red spots on the skin (where the root has been extracted) for a few hours. This is very normal and nothing to be concerned about.
